The Movies That Made Us plot

There is a story behind every film. A story that is more than once about failure and persistence, budgets that are inadequate, actors who don't like each other, or fights between the creative and business sides of Hollywood - sometimes there seems to be more drama going on behind the silver screen than on it. Each episode is a standalone documentary.

The Movies That Made Us season 1

Nice series of documentaries about eight films that everyone has seen or at least knows. Season one appeals to the imagination a little more than two, perhaps because everyone already knows a lot about titles like Back To The Future and Jurassic Park, but those episodes are also entertaining enough. Directors such as Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis shine through their absence, but apart from that, an impressive procession shows up. The best episodes in my opinion are the ones about Ghostbusters and Die Hard, both from the first season.
