Turkey is celebrating. It is exactly 100 years ago that the Republic was founded, born from the ruins of the First World War. In this four-part series, writer and presenter Özcan Akyol, better known as Eus, travels to the country. He not only looks at history, but also at the future. After the devastating earthquakes and unprecedentedly tense elections in May, the question is: what next? Time to compare the dreams of then and now. Eus visits four Turkish cities during his trip. In conservative Trabzon he follows the unprecedentedly exciting election battle. In Izmir, the most liberal city in Turkey, it is about the limits of freedom. Konya is traditionally a religious city, but in recent years also an economic boomtown. And in Diyarbakir, with a large Kurdish population, the effects of the earthquake are still being felt. How does Turkey manage to maintain unity in all this diversity?
