America to Me plot

Filmmaker Steve James points his camera at Oak Park and River Forest High School, located in an upscale Chicago suburb. It is an ethnic, economic and cultural melting pot and can thus be seen as a miniature American society. Yet today's teenagers also face enough barriers at this school, as shown by conversations with students, their families and the teachers.
