I have now seen the second and third seasons. The same line is still followed as in the first season. The actual crime stories per episode are well constructed and also well developed, just like the setting. This is even one of the few series where the solution is explained in detail; so little is left to the imagination of the viewer (compare this with Waking the Dead (Series, 2000 - 2011) where perhaps a little too much is left to the imagination of the viewer at the end of an episode). With The Chelsea Detective this fits in with the level of the side cases; the characters all come across as somewhat simple, sometimes even silly. If the makers assume that the viewers are of the same level, then indeed everything needs to be explained. Despite this, this series is still enjoyable to watch, although for me it is not worth repeating.
