To the Manor Born plot

Lady Audrey fforbes-Hamilton is overjoyed that her husband Marton has died and she can finally take the management of Grantleigh Manor into her own hands. The joy is short-lived, however, as her late husband is left with a huge debt burden and she is forced to sell the estate. Reluctantly, she moves into the former porter's house with the intention of keeping an eye on the new owner from there. The new owner, a self-made millionaire and supermarket chain owner Richard DeVere, stands for everything Audrey despises, and she's not going to make it easy for him.
