The Mysteries of Laura plot

Laura Diamond is a single mother who tries to combine her work as a detective with the New York Police Department and caring for her twins. Her ex-husband Jake Broderick gets in the way; he won't sign the divorce papers. Since her ex-husband is also her chief detective, this often causes tension between the two of them. She does her job in her own way. This means wearing anti-fashionable clothing and not using proper etiquette towards the people she encounters in the investigation.
