Great Pretender plot

Japan's Edamura Makoto wants to achieve great things, but ends up in prison after working for a fraudulent company. Unable to find an honest job after his parole and because of the stigma of his father's criminal past, Makoto decides to become a con man. The best in Japan. When he tries to steal from a foreigner, the French Laurent Theirry, Makoto discovers that he himself has been scammed. He chases Laurent to Los Angeles to determine who is the best con man.
