Yellowstone plot
The Dutton family, headed by John, owns the largest ranch in the United States. John tries to earn his living here together with his family in an honest way. However, it is anything but easy for him. The Dutton ranch is under constant attack from property developers, an Indian reservation and the creation of the first American nature reserve Yellowstone National Park. However, the Duttons continue to do everything they can to protect their country.

Game Of Thrones with cowboys, although that is a bit short sighted. The bombastic intro music and the intrigue are certainly reminiscent of it. An excellently acted and beautifully portrayed series, written by writer/director Taylor Sheridan. The influences of his earlier scripts for example Sicario, Hell Or High Water and Wind River are clearly visible. A little far-fetched and bold here and there, but the storylines and characters are captivating enough to want to continue with season two.

Race storyteller and director Taylor Sheridan (Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King) turns Yellowstone into a modern western. Fortunately with all the elements of classic examples. With a touch of good old Dallas and Succession, Yellowstone is primarily a family epic set in the overwhelming nature of Montana.
With thick markers, vivid portraits are sketched here of a Republican traditional rancher family coping with trauma, including a prodigal son. Politics, power and traditional American values - only the church is missing - are presented to the viewer masterfully, but at the same time superficially and not too subtly.

Maybe slightly better than series 1, but it remains very marginal. Too much redneck, too little credibility, and way too little use of the environment. Furthermore, my commentary on series 1 remains somewhat relevant, the characters are too unsympathetic and too superficial. What still amazes me is that I've finished watching the series.
