Leuk! Z Nation is een bom van creativiteit welke explodeert in scherven van schater en gelach. Weliswaar een kaasfestijn waar het potje kaasfondue U tegen zegt maar wat kan het schelen. Wat kan het schelen als we worden bekogeld met drama in The Walking Dead, wat kan het schelen als Netflix en HBO met de zoveelste 'kwaliteitserie' komen, wat kan het schelen na een drukke werkweek van 60 uur? Dit potje aan keiharde-zombie-apocalypse-actie wordt in sneltreinvaart opengemaakt zodat zelfs korrels van verhaaltechnische momentjes weten te ontsnappen. Gooi hier een mix van flitsende editing een voorspelbare humor aan toe en we hebben een uitzonderlijk friss tussendoortje met een erg hoog vermakelijkheidsgehalte. 4.5*

Z Nation is a creativity bomb that explodes into shards of laughter and laughter. Admittedly a cheese feast that the jar of cheese fondue will tell you, but who cares. Jup, erg vermakelijk dit. Probeert zich uiteraard, gelukkig, niet te meten aan The Walking Dead en neemt zich gelukkig ook totaal niet serieus. De makers weten een lichte, vermakelijke, no-brainer versie te maken van The Walking Dead, met veel humor, actie, gore, en knipogen naar TWD en andere horror films/series. Acteerwerk is, zoals verwacht, niet geweldig. De main cast gaat op zich wel, met Russell Hodgkinson als 'Doc' (He's watched a lot of ER!) als leukste character. De gastrollen zijn vaak wel van enorm matige kwaliteit. Z Nation kent gelukkig een hoog tempo en blijft daardoor vermakelijk. Door de aanhoudende roadtrip komen ze constant in hele verschillende situaties terecht (Nucleaire powerplant, orkaan, kannibalistische sekte etc.) wat het leuk en fris houdt. Leuke zombie serie dus met de nodige droge humor en one-liners, genoeg knipogen en zelfspot en verfrissende ideeën. Na 12 Monkeys opnieuw dus een prima serie van Syfy (Al zijn ze qua serieusheid absoluut niet met elkaar te vergelijken). En voor de echte horror fans: Bill Moseley (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, House of 1000 Corpses etc.) heeft een gastrol.

Yup, this is very entertaining.

Fortunately, Z Nation has a fast pace and therefore remains entertaining. Due to the ongoing road trip, they constantly end up in very different situations (Nuclear power plant, hurricane, cannibalistic sect etc.) which keeps it fun and fresh.

Nice zombie series with the necessary dry humor and one-liners, enough winks and self-mockery and refreshing ideas. After 12 Monkeys again an excellent series from Syfy (Although they are absolutely not comparable in terms of seriousness). And for the real horror fans: Bill Moseley (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, House of 1000 Corpses etc.) has a guest role.

Vond het begin al nie best maar aan het einde van aflevering 1 met die zombie baby ging het me toch egt te ver. Wat slecht is dit zeg. Ik vind sowieso horror en komedie niet egt samengaan, een beetje mag egt wel maar die flauwe onzin en daarbij het slechte acteerwerk en neppe bewegingen van bijv die baby gaat me te ver sorry. Iedereen zijn eigen mening. blijkbaar vinden sommige het wel leuk maar voor mij is dit egt niks. Als je walking dead leuk vind en fear the walking dead en je houd van dat soort horror met zombies ga deze dan maar niet kijken.

Didn't like the beginning but at the end of episode 1 with that zombie baby it went too far for me. How bad is this. Anyway, I don't think horror and comedy really go together, a little is allowed, but that silly nonsense and the bad acting and fake movements of, for example, that baby is too much for me, sorry. Everyone has their own opinion. Apparently some people like it but it's not for me. If you like walking dead and fear the walking dead and you like that kind of horror with zombies then don't watch this one.
