Xena: Warrior Princess plot

Xena (Lucy Lawless) is a powerful warrior with a dark past bent on making amends for the sins of her past. Together with Gabrielle (Renée O'Connor), she travels across the country and fights for people who are unable to do this themselves. Her enemies are vastly varied, from simple bandits and thieves, to mythological creatures and ancient Gods.

Xena: Warrior Princess season 1

Xena is real nostalgia for people who grew up in the 90s.
Every weekend, late in the evening around 11pm-12am on RTL5.
While The X-Files and The Sopranos became real phenomena, Xena lagged behind and was forgotten.
Understandable because Xena was not technically renewed in terms of translation and the disadvantage that this had for the series was,
that it didn't matter much if you missed a few episodes because each episode was a story in itself, just like a comic book.
Which is what I personally think is the biggest advantage of this series.
I compare this series with the comic; The Red Knight,
Each story boils down to the same thing with a Medieval/Gothic setting with Fantasy elements and it always has a happy ending.
Featuring 2 female leads, one of whom provides the comic relief and the other is the sexy, tough heroine, complete with a legendary fight cry.
Not a series to watch for hours on end, but an episode every now and then is a nice way to pass the time.
