Run, Joe, Run plot

Joe is a German Shepherd in the Army's K-9 Corps. His boss is Sergeant Will Corey. One day, during training, Joe is falsely accused of assaulting his master, an act for which they want to put the dog to sleep as punishment. However, he escapes before being killed and a $200 reward is offered for whoever catches him. Sergeant Corey believes Joe was innocent and sets out to find him, hoping to find Joe before others find him. On his run, Joe helps people he meets. Sergeant Corey eventually fails to find Joe and is recalled by the military. Joe then meets the walker Josh McCoy and continues to help others, while still remaining on the run.
