When astronomers detect a transmission from another galaxy, it is definitive proof of intelligent extraterrestrial life. The world's population awaits further contact with bated breath. They don't have to wait long. Within days, humanity is nearly wiped out by a devastating attack; survivors of humanity are left in an eerily desolate world. Interesting premise. Instead of a lot of action, the series opts for a more psychological approach. To a certain extent this does work. I can empathize well with the characters (especially with mother-son and the blind daughter). The acting is more than decent. The problem is that the series never really gets very exciting and the pace is too slow especially after the first two episodes.
The ending is downright weak and anticlimactic.
