I absolutely did not find this to be a top series, and indeed a long-winded, unnecessary remake. Bardem is sometimes a fantastic actor, like in my favorite movie "Mar Adentro," but I absolutely did not think this was his best role; he was rather weak. I give the three stars mainly for the fantastic Amy Adams; otherwise, it is a series that won't appear on many lists of the best series of 2026, which I understand very well.
It's not interesting enough and it just takes way too long....

Unfortunately, this series borders on the improbable multiple times, with the mediocre final installment making the rather interesting build-up somewhat forgotten. It is a shame that the slow pace also caused the whole thing to become a bit boring here and there. The cast was fine, and Bardem's role reminded me of his part in No Country for Old Men (2007), a film that scored better for me than this series. In terms of length: 8.5 hours is simply too long for this story.
