It's nice to watch, but it's not really exciting.
Ted Danson gives a decent performance, but it's all quite predictable.

More drama than comedy or thriller. I figured out the mystery pretty quickly, but that doesn't make 'Man on the Inside' any less enjoyable. It's about the warm, human connections that Charles Nieuwendyk (Ted Danson) makes with the residents of the retirement home. The role is tailor-made for Danson as a hyper-intelligent charmer in his old age, who fully enjoys his new role as schemer. It's also nice to see familiar faces from 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' like Marc Evan Jackson and Stephanie Beatriz. Beatriz in particular is fun as the somewhat intimidating director Didi, with her stoic appearance and simmering frustrations. Let me be the first to be curious about the second season of 'Man on the Inside'. Something tells me that Charles is going to travel to the Florida Keys...

Guys, this is NOT a comedy. It is a real drama. Themes such as family ties, friendship, old age, loneliness, dementia and so on predominate, and certainly not all in a light-hearted way. Serious dialogues and morals are given free rein. IT IS NOT A COMEDY. Really have no idea why MM names this as the only genre.
Sure there are comic moments and scenes, but of the easy kind, sometimes even childish. The idea is funny and a nice premise, but it really doesn't come across. At least, not if you want to watch a nice comedy for the lightness. So most important tip: avoid this series if that's what you're looking for!
I don't get why the ratings are so high. On IMDB I kind of get it, because those Americans do well on this kind of sentiment I think.
