Very strong season of The Simpsons, with only a few minor blemishes. For example, I'm not a great fan of flashback episodes. Thankfully, most episodes aren't like that, and this season features some of my favorite episodes from the series.
Mr. Plow is a brilliant episode featuring a feud between pub pals Homer and Barney, whose performances get more and more hilarious along the way. Margin Vs. the Monorail is all absurdity, with Marge as Springfield's moral compass. I Love Lisa is somewhere between laughing and crying, with that pathetic but oh so funny Ralph. Last Exit to Springfield is fantastic from the first minute to the last, featuring the evil Mr. Burns, Homer as union leader (the thought alone makes you laugh out loud) and Lisa's beautiful song.
In addition to the main characters (the Simpson family), more and more secondary characters come to the fore, to leave their entertaining mark on the whole. Much to my delight, by the way, because characters like Chief Wiggum, Groundskeeper Willie, Barney and Grandpa Simpson make me shudder more than once.
The best season of The Simpsons? I don't know, but it's pretty close to me!
