Scruples plot

Billy works as a secretary and marries an older, very rich man. When he dies, she can open an exclusive boutique in Beverly Hills called 'Scruples'. She then gets a crush on the pretentious, macho film director Vito Orsini, who is not having an easy time of business. Meanwhile, Valentine, an unsuccessful fashion designer, and Spider, a photographer and a jack of all trades, struggle to achieve success. They become friends, but they don't want romance. After a while they can start working for Billy. Based on Judith Krantz's novel of the same name.
