Cowboys Ross Bodine and Frank Post are ranchers on Walt Buckman's 'R-Bar-R' ranch. Bodine is already old and mulling over how he will fare when he is too old to be a cowboy. Post, on the other hand, is young and rambunctious and has the ambition for a better life than working with cows. When one of their colleagues dies in an accident while on the job, Post suggests there is only one way to a better life for himself and his friend Bodine: robbing a bank. Bodine reluctantly joins Post's plan to rob the local bank...
