They Rode West plot
"One false move meant death when ... They Rode West."
Young army doctor Allen Seward is transferred to a western cavalry outpost to replace his three perpetually drunk predecessors. Seward is not very kindly received by his fellow officers and soldiers. He soon finds himself in conflict with Captain Peter Blake, the commander of the post. Seward finds that Blake is very rough with the Kiowas who reside on a nearby reservation. However, to Blake, a good Indian is a dead Indian. Seward befriends Laurie MacKaye, Blake's niece. But then malaria breaks out in the Kiowa's reservation and Seward wants to help them. He immediately comes into conflict with Blake, who is against it and the medicine man of the Kiowas is also not pleased with Seward. While Seward is arrested for treating Chief Satana's son, a group of Comanches led by Chief Quanah leave another reservation to attempt to capture the outpost.
