The Oregon Trail plot
"When the cry of a frontier on the move was '54-40 or fight' !"
Oregon, 1846. The state of Oregon prepares for the arrival of new settlers. However, settler caravans taking the route to Oregon are increasingly confronted by hostile Native Americans. Neal Harris, a reporter for the New York Herold, must investigate the rumors that it is correct that President Polk is sending troops disguised as settlers to Oregon. However, Neal is captured by angry Indians along the way when he wants to return to New York City. With the help of a young squaw, Neal manages to escape. He hopes to warn the troops, led by Captain George Wayne, in time of an imminent Indian attack.
