The Desperado plot
"Sam Garrett was all bad...all killer...and always ready to prove it!"
From 1870 to 1873, Texas suffered under the regime of despotic governor EJ Davis and his violent state police led from Johannes City by Captain Jake Thornton. Two young men, Tall Cameron and Ray Novack, flee to the Big Bend area to escape prosecution. Ray pretends to be Tall's friend, but he actually hates him. The jealous Ray fears that Laura Bannerman will become Tall's wife. Ray and Tall join forces with Sam Garrett, a killer with a price on his head. Ray tries to kill Garret to collect the reward, but Tall saves Garrett's life and Ray then flees to Johannes City. Ray kills Captain Jake Thornton and another soldier, but Tall is blamed. Garrett can exonerate Tall, but will he?
