Bob Morgan returns home, but there is a conflict with his father. Bob doesn't want to stay on the ranch and is appointed leader of the Arizona Rangers. The relationship between father and son deteriorates even more when the father catches up with a man who he believes has killed someone. Bob intervenes when they want to hang the man without mercy. The suspect disappears behind bars, but is freed by his gang. Bob is fired as head of the Rangers because of this incident. Bob doesn't give up and goes after the gang.
