Rustlers of the Badlands plot
Steve Lindsay, aka 'The Durango Kid', is a US cavalry scout. The Durango Kid, along with his friend and scout Tex Harding, must investigate the murder of a lieutenant who is allegedly involved in cattle theft in Antelope Valley, New Mexico. After The Durando Kid and Harding leave, the third scout Cannonball decides to follow them. En route, The Durango Kid witnesses an attack on a carriage carrying passenger banker Henry Emerson and Sally Boylston, the niece of missing rancher Andrew Boylston. The Durango Kid, who manages to thwart the attack, brings the attacker, who was after the important documents Sally is carrying, to the city. The carriage with Sally and Henry arrives a little later and Jim Norton, foreman of the Boylston Ranch and involved in the cattle thefts, falsely accuses The Durango Kid of the robbery. The Durango Kid threatens to be hanged, but Harding and Cannonball drive into town just in time. Suspecting a connection between the lieutenant's murder and the false accusation against him, The Durango Kid decides to visit Sally's ranch.
