"HOT ON THE TRAIL OF OUTLAWS,TUNES AND FUN"
Sheriff Steve Warren is looking for an outlaw gang who has raided owner Nora Reed's stagecoach line. Steve captures one of the gang members, Frank Reed, who turns out to be Nora's brother and arrests him. Frank's stay in prison turns out to be short-lived: he is murdered. Corrupt lawyer Garvey Yager and surveyor Alfred Murdock conspire to charge Steve with murder. They both get Steve to be deposed as sheriff. Steve manages to escape and goes in search of Murdock, who saw Smiley near the prison at the time of the murder. Martin Oaks, the new sheriff, however, arrests Steve, but he manages to escape again and he goes incognito as 'The Durango Kid', in order to still hunt Yager and Murdock.
