Lonely Are the Brave plot

"Life can never cage a man like this!"

Jack Burns is a strong independent cowboy who resists modernization. In order to free his best friend Bondi from prison, he has himself locked up. There he finds out that Bondi doesn't want to escape at all. Burns decides to break out of his own accord and is soon chased by Sheriff Johnson.
