This film is about the life of Audie Murphy, who plays herself. He was born in 1924 as one of many children. The father soon gave up. When his mother dies, he enlists. He is rejected by the air force and navy, but he finds a place in the army. He witnessed the invasions in North Africa, Southern Italy and Southern France. He eventually received 24 awards, including an order for the day from President Truman, for single-handedly killing 240 German soldiers. He became a legend.

Nice film about a young man who enlists in the army to fight in the war. Mainly a WWII film, but also a little bit of a biopic. Special because the main character is played by herself (Audie Murphy). The combat scenes still look quite good, but as a whole the film seems a bit outdated and the tone is sometimes a bit too light.
