In the second half of 1944, several Allied units in Belgium try to fight their way through the tough German defenses at the Siegfried Line. If they succeed, the way to Germany will be open. One of these units is the US 3rd Armored Division. The story of the film is about a platoon of five tanks, led by Lt. Rawson, Captain Bob Horners Company C's top platoon.
