71 years ago, during the Korean War, the voluntary People's Army invaded North Korea. Under extreme weather conditions, the armies on this front fought their enemy around Lake Changjin. It turned out to be a turning point in the Korean War.

Phew, what a long sit this was. Beforehand I saw that the film would last roughly 176 minutes, but during the viewing I regularly had to sit out the time. Why? I think I became increasingly irritated by the unrealistic, Chinese propaganda aspects that are abundant in this film. Sure, during the Korean War, China bit it off nicely, but come on: A Chinese war volunteer who perfectly shoots a helicopter out of the air with an American bazooka: very realistic..
Certainly, there were also good aspects to be found in the film: aspects such as sufficient action and violence. However, a negative undertone remained. A plus point is that the Chinese of course just speak Chinese and the Americans American (if you don't mind the horrible American accent haha).
