I liked it, but not good enough to buy it. The story was captivating and the pace was good. The cast consisted of a lot of famous people, not all by name, but some you would recognize from other films.

Nevertheless, I didn't immediately have a waw feeling about it and I didn't think it was a hit, but one to pick up when they show it on TV.

A bit too complicated, but stylish thriller with moody film music and beautiful cinematography. Acting by protagonists Dafoe and Mastrantonio leaves nothing to be desired, with an honorable mention for Rourke in the excellent role of sleazy CIA-man turned arms dealer. 3*

Saw it for the first time yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. I always check the reviews here before I watch a movie and I often read that the movie would be quite 'confusing'.

I thought it was a pretty fascinating story, with an excellent cast. Dafoe is always good, but as far as I'm concerned, Rourke is the eye-catcher here. The cynical Emmet Walsh was also laughing and in good spirits. Just like the pace, that was quite there and characters became very fast and often without any kind of introduction. There are also often many plot twists that follow each other, which sometimes makes it seem a bit messy, but I found that interesting again because it made me even more curious. It is not difficult to follow, but you do have to keep your attention. There are certainly things that could be improved or that they should have paid more attention to, but I think it all flows together nicely, the camera work was very good and the film never bores.

The ending could have been better and as far as I'm concerned it shouldn't be a happy ending

I had a lot of fun with this movie! If only to catch a bare tit from Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio again

This one, together with The Bounty & The World's Fastest Indian, is certainly one of the better works of this, in my view, good director.
