"A cyber killer has finally found the perfect accomplice: You."

Jennifer Marsh is an agent in the FBI's Special Internet Division. She spends her nights tracking down scammers, perverts and other criminals who hide behind the seemingly secure cover of the internet. Then she and her division stumble upon the gruesome killwithme.com, a mysterious site that allows visitors to witness the most violent torture, ending in death. The more visitors the site gets, the sooner the victim dies. Jennifer must make sure that this bloodthirsty madman is stopped before more victims fall. Then this killer makes it personal...

Smaller in scope than what we're used to from Hoblit, but maybe it comes across that way because he has to do it without an eye-catching actor. Promptly it appears somewhat more effective. Not with an unusual concept, it's kind of in between Se7en and Saw and it gets bogged down in the usual paths along the way, but it pretty much does what it's supposed to do.

A cat killer is of course wrong anyway and the atmosphere setting is quite nice. Drizzly and chilly with lots of blue and other gloomy colors. It is not very nice to stay in this Portland. In that respect it is a shame that the music is interchangeable, as if it was plucked from a dusty thriller shelf. When the website and the like comes up, it has something horrific in store here and there.

A plot that undoubtedly has something to say, for those who find it interesting, but it also messes it up a bit. When Griffin is the spool, it still works, but with the next one it won't anymore. It may be intended to be exciting, but it is a trigger that you know will not be pulled. All in all, not a high flyer, but compact enough to just get away with it.

A real TV movie. There is nothing wrong with that, but this story is too simple and many questions remain unanswered regarding the investigative work. Now and then some tense moments but never once have I been on the edge of my seat. Just not enough.

Very mediocre. It is all atmospheric and gruesome, but the story is bad and predictable and the perpetrator does not radiate any threat at all. It's a shame that he comes into the picture so quickly because it completely removes the tension. And from the start you actually know who is going to be kidnapped and how the film is going to end. Fortunately, Diane Lane is still there who knows how to make a lot of her role and makes the film still worth seeing. A fabulous achievement.
