Our Kind of Traitor
Reasonable spy film that remains enjoyable especially by the actors. Because the script really falls short, and some of the plot developments are too ridiculous for words. Each character appears to have his own agenda and motivations, and actors like Skarsgård, McGregor, Harris and Lewis know how to sell it. With a better script, Our Kind of Traitor would only have become a much better movie. Shame.

Boring movie with messy story and hard not to fall asleep. That rest with his big mouth, what a shame.

Interesting cast and director, possibly an exciting story written by Le Carré, and especially with Tinker, Taylor, Soldier, Spy in mind, a film that raises certain expectations in advance but then doesn't fulfill anything.
Without wasting too many words on this soon to be forgotten whole, the locations are beautiful and the visual style is fine. The story, on the other hand, and certain events hang together like loose sand and are actually too stupid for words, this so-called mistaken identity and the ensuing consequences.
I jump for a moment when I think I recognize a parallel and characters from other Le Carré stories, but this turns out to be a mistake and is therefore short-lived. No, Our Kind Of Traitor is a particularly disappointing whole for a film that promises a lot in advance in terms of cast and director, and a budget that has certainly not been sick. For that reason alone OKOT can be called even worse than a missed opportunity, this is just a blunder.
