Kafkas Der Bau plot
Franz has actually already achieved everything he wanted: he has a beautiful wife, two treasures of children and a well-paid job. Yet something is gnawing at him and he has a vague sense of insecurity. That is why Franz throws himself into the construction of a bunker-like residential complex. He points out that 'the best part about this building is the silence'. But no matter how much he tries to hide with his family, the outside world keeps invading his life. No matter what he tries, he continues to feel like he's being chased; as if they are trying to invade his life and make his wealth their own. And the more he isolates himself, the stronger his paranoia becomes. Whereas in the past his fear was a vague feeling, the threat is now becoming more tangible for him. They can't find him.
