Joram plot

The story begins with an idyllic rural childhood love affair in the eastern Indian state of Jharkhand and then abruptly shifts to raw working-class life in Mumbai. A few years after leaving their village, Dasru and Vaano work and sleep on a construction site along with their young daughter Joram. A dubious meeting with a political leader from their region, Phulo Karma, turns violent, forcing the mild-mannered Dasru to take refuge in Mumbai's evening fog.
