In 1988, ambitious police officer Thomas Lockhart embarks on a search for a serial killer who mysteriously resurfaces every nine years. What makes the killer's crimes so exceptional is that there are no scientific explanations for them. I agree with some of the previous comments. Film with 2 halves, a good first half and a rushed second half with a downright annoying and pedantic message at the end. It even seemed like they found out half way through that the budget was running out and some historical quotes were thrown in to polish it up a bit to wrap it up.
The story would have been more appropriate including deeper story elaboration of the second part in a 4-part miniseries with each part 1 decade for example. The story or scenario hadn't been conceived that crazy and even with a longer film playing time of, for example, just under 3 hours, much more could have been done.
The intended story had some Terminator aspects combined with an average to good serial killer story. But also had the idea that people struggled with the deeper message of the film and that the film itself became the victim. Characters were a bit superficial too. The film was too aimless on the essentials such as the primary storylines with another only 45 minutes at the end.
I don't get further than an insufficient to moderate thanks to the bad ill-considered 2nd part. Come to an average of a 3.5 for the first piece and a 1.5 for the end.

Very mediocre.
Mickle is not a brilliant director, but he has some decent films behind his name. Giving this one a chance was a no-brainer, especially when it was put on Netflix. But in the end it was a bit disappointing, in my opinion even his worst film.
Among other things, the film reveals its surprise far too quickly. Starting in the future, then to the 80's for some inexplicable reason .. then 1+1 quickly becomes 2, especially when the black girl starts speaking in time-traveling riddles again. It should come as no surprise that it eventually culminates in something reminiscent of that monkey movie from the 90s.
It also feels a bit too much like a TV series. It feels fairly ephemeral, without too much rhythm or coherence. I understand that there is quite a bit to show, but it seemed more like 4 episodes glued together than one movie. Visually it's not up to par at all.
Nah, this is all a bit too loose. It's not really boring, but all seen before and better. Mickle should be able to do this better.
