"Every town has its monsters"
John Wayne Cleaver, A boy with an unhealthy obsession with murder caused by a traumatic past becomes convinced that his ancient neighbor Mr Crowley is responsible for a number of horrific, bizarre murders that have recently taken place in the small town where he lives. Partly because of his psychological problems - including the fact that he sometimes has delusions - John is unable to convince others of this and he decides to expose his neighbor with his own hands.

A decent film that unfortunately doesn't keep you interested the entire length.
Lloyd plays well as you can expect from him, the rest of the cast is also okay.
Visually a nice location (town) where shots were fired....plus.
It's more the story and the events that are and remain a bit flat .. it could all have been a bit more exciting and less standard.

The story got off to a slow start but became more and more fascinating and interesting, I already had my score ready in mind,,,3,5*. Unfortunately, the ending of the film was a real letdown (my opinion), hence my final score of 2.5.

I saw this one a few years ago and really liked it, especially because of the freaky and unexpected twist in it. Too long ago to go into details but it was an entertaining piece with its own twist on an admittedly well-kept genre. Movies with very dark-minded teenagers can be interesting, so I also enjoyed Apt Pupil.
