At times intriguing film about a single mother who, after an eventful wandering, finds safe shelter with her daughter with an ex-convict. With the numerous connections between the characters, the film allows coincidence to play a very important role. Entertaining, but no more than that. Mel Gibson doesn't have much to do. He only appears from the party because of his name recognition.

Solid film with more eye for drama than action. The focus is on two main characters where their storylines come together. After a while, they realize that their past has already crossed paths they never thought possible. Mel Gibson has a smaller role here, but knows how to fill it well. Willa Fitzgerald as Maben plays her role convincingly, Garrett Hedlund as Russell less so, his voice sometimes coming across as irritating. 6/10

A homeless mother [Willa Fitzgerald] goes on the run after shooting dead a cop who raped her; an ex-con [Garrett Hedlund] moves in with his father [Mel Gibson] and stepmother [Paulina Gálvez], but has not yet been able to forgive himself for what he has done; an aggressive drunk [Ryan Hurst] takes out the anger and sadness over the death of his brother and the custody of his son [Brady Gentry] on the world. The three stories, of course, appear to be related. Hurst takes the cake when it comes to exaggerated acting, although that is also due to Crocker's unsubtle direction and Michael Farris Smith's cringe-inducing screenplay.
