"The life you lose could be your own!"

Susan Warfield is introduced to Los Angeles for the first time and soon befriends Nicole. Unfortunately, Nicole does not have health insurance, something that quickly costs her when she suffers from a stomach ailment. When Susan takes Nicole to the hospital, the doctors refuse to operate on her... due to the lack of proper insurance papers. However, Susan immediately comes up with a brilliant idea; Nicole is allowed to borrow her medical card (so Nicole has to play Susan), so that she can be operated on immediately. Everything seems to be going well, but Nicole dies - under suspicious circumstances - after the operation. However, it is not Nicole who has died before the law, but Susan. And that of course has many consequences!
