Solid action vehicle.

Initially I was afraid of a Taken-esque affair; the synopsis looks a bit like it, the poster apparently had to pay for it too. But luckily this is not of the same kind. Although À Bout Portant is ultimately far from qualitative enough to be able to speak of a high flyer.

It is mainly the actors who make the film work - to a certain extent, at least. The main character is a first-class bungler, much more fun than the umpteenth clinical one man army, who 'coincidentally' used to be with the CIA and 'coincidentally' masters Krav Maga and countless other martial arts. The rest of the cast mainly does its thing, although Anaya was a (pleasant) surprise. Furthermore, of course, many unshaven seedy figures, and grumpy looks.

Of course, it's all far from believable; one coincidence follows another, but oh well, what do you want. The always blatant clichés were also present, and as icing on the somewhat too sweet cake, of course, the obligatory final scene. Fortunately, Cavayé was able to calculate that a longer playing time would have been disastrous, because the 84 minutes were sufficient.

Far too average to stand out, of course, but I wasn't bored in itself. Well put together, but not very striking action movie. 2.5*.

Luck seems to be smiling at nurse-in-training Samuel [Gilles Lellouche]: his great love Nadia [Elena Anaya] will soon have a daughter and while on the job, he saves the life of a seriously injured man whose breathing apparatus was sabotaged by a doctor. dressed up man. Samuel is the only eyewitness to this attempted murder and it soon costs him dearly: when his apartment is broken into, he is knocked unconscious and his girlfriend kidnapped. When Samuel comes to his senses, he gets a call from the kidnapper who demands that he get the injured man out of the hospital within three hours, or else... Lellouch is sublime as the despairing, inexperienced nurse in this suspenseful thriller with a well-developed plot full of original and believable twists. With a playing time of barely 80 minutes, this is short, but very powerful.

Watched today, thought it was an entertaining movie full of chases!

From the beginning it is always exciting and something happens throughout the film, so a lot of chases and some shootings, a good French crime film.

Sometimes it felt like I was watching a Liam Neeson movie, the main character was quite similar and the movie was a bit like 'Taken' or a ''Bourne'' movie.

It doesn't get completely spectacular or innovative anywhere, we've seen these kinds of films before, but it's nice to see this one too!
