Quatermass 2 plot
"A horrible enemy from the unknown strikes terror across the earth!"
Dr. Quartermass is in charge of an important nuclear laboratory, which is busy building huge rockets to colonize the moon. Aliens horribly put a stop to this, by nesting themselves in the brains of the Earth's population.

Nice film in which Doctor Quatermass tries to get his space project off the ground. This second part has a better story and is a lot more mysterious and therefore more entertaining. Partly because it is over sixty years old, it sometimes seems a bit clumsy.

Second film in the Hammer studios' Quatermass trilogy is a well-written and directed SF thriller about Dr Quatermass's [Brian Donlevy] attempts to reveal that a chemical factory is actually a front for an alien invasion that is destroying human bodies. take possession in order to live in the Earth's atmosphere. You could call this the British answer to 'Invasion Of The Body Snatchers', but despite the fact that the effects are inevitably somewhat dated, this film is still very entertaining, especially due to good acting, especially from Donlevy in the title role. . Director Val Guest also keeps the pace going well, so that despite its technical limitations, this film is never boring for a moment.

Classic British SF. This is of course great for enthusiasts. I think this one might even be a little better than its predecessor. The storyline is exciting and has a great climax. The creepy atmosphere is enhanced by the b&w photography, the Shell plant as a location, the music of James Bernard... And of course the good acting. Brian Donlevy is actually an unpleasant man and that adds to the sinister dehumanized atmosphere. Vera Day gets one of her first important roles here as the beautiful girl on duty.
