In the future, a part of humanity lives outside of time, in Eternity. One still does growing old and dying, but from that Eternity one can travel through time and manipulate history. Eternity is a strictly hierarchical stronghold full of men, in which every personal desire has to give way to 'the cause'. When tech Andrew Harlan falls for a woman against the rules, he hides her in the "hidden ages" and to thwart his superiors, he sabotages a project that has major implications for the survival of Eternity.
