"The countdown to annihilation has begun... And nothing on earth can stop it!"
Astronomers discover a huge comet that has headed toward Earth. At first, everyone refuses to believe them. Ultimately, many believe that the comet will miss Earth, or burn up in the atmosphere. However, the astronomers are confident that the comet will hit just outside Phoenix, Arizona. With the help of a television channel, they try to convince the skeptical public.
