Um Amor de Perdição plot

Simão Botelho, a lonely, narcissistic and suicidal teenager, attracts most of the people he meets as a fatal aura, a black light. He falls deeply in love with Teresa de Albuquerque. But does Teresa exist? Or is it a mere invention, an image, a reflection? Her father wants her to marry cousin Baltazar. Simão and Teresa meet in secret, but Baltasar pays a criminal to kill Simão. This one injures Simão, but Simão remains alive. Then the two rivals themselves get into a fight, with Baltazar dying. Simão is then sent to prison, and Teresa is sent to the monastery. While in prison, Simão is visited by Mariana da Cruz, who is secretly in love with him. She treats him and helps him escape from prison.
