Rather unbelievable story and even though some things are clarified towards the end and the film has a few surprises in store, it all remains quite improbable.

Roschdy Zem acted best.

Quite an entertaining film.

But it is not clear to me who does what with and for whom and who has something or has nothing or is against whom and why they have something against/with it and why or why not.

Most of it has already been said. A B-movie, full of improbabilities, badly acted, not well developed. And that is really a shame, because the setting in Morocco and the concept of the story really lend themselves to a better development. Now I can handle quite a few clichés in a film (if used well) and I am not easily bothered by 'coincidences' towards 'improbable', but what really bothered me was the bad acting. Almost all the characters are very unbelievable. If you are stranded in the middle of the desert after such an accident and have several corpses lying around you, then you react 180 degrees differently than the characters in this film. I think the maker of this film has never driven through a desert independently / alone and certainly did not get into a situation where it became a bit exciting. Also the action in the beginning of Scott and Travis (when you get to know the relationship between these two later) is completely unbelievable. This causes the foundation of the film to quickly sink and there is nothing in the film that can act as a lifeline. The film itself seems to get lost in a desert and can't get out.

The most positive aspect of the film is the authenticity with which the landscape of Morocco is shown: it has not been chosen to mix in all kinds of spectacular landscapes from other countries, but it shows the desolate emptiness of the desert as it really is. Essaouria is also realistically depicted.

2 stars for the beautiful landscapes and the story that has potential.
