The Voice of Merrill plot
"Millions heard him confess to murder!"
A convicted female blackmailer is found murdered in her apartment and three men are suspected, police believe had motive to kill the lady. First up is the troubled writer Hugh Allen who was previously in a relationship with the dead woman. Then there is his publisher Ronald Parker, who was blackmailed by the woman for thousands of pounds when she worked as a clerk for him. And finally, there is the arrogant writer Jonathan Roach who knew the woman well, but withholds certain things.
