Tars and Spars plot

Howard Young is a coastguard who has been stranded ashore for three years, despite wanting some action at sea. However, he has never done the latter, only for a government experiment in which he spent 21 days on a raft that was docked. Howard meets Christine Bradley, who comes to take over his communications work. For lack of clarity, she believes Howard was on a raft for 21 days because of a ship that sank.
