Dylan part 2.
And so I'm still glad I saw Scorsese's documentary. Without it, this movie would have been a complete unfathomable mess for me. Now there is a certain reference (some fragments are even reproduced almost literally).
Nice idea to choose 6 actors. Blanchett and Whishaw were the most convincing, Bale and the black boy were good, Gere below the rest.
Besides 6 actors and parts of his life, it would also have been nice if the stylization of the fragments had been a bit further apart. A bit too classic for me anyway, sometimes nicely portrayed, but Haynes sticks to one style, which I found quite a shame in the end. Then go all the way.
Nice to see certain scenes from his life almost 1 on 1, but I didn't have more than a "haha, I've seen" feeling. The references Haynes makes are very superficial and direct, so that they are actually almost more confusing (little black boy called Woody when he is supposed to introduce Dylan...). He could have done better in the movie.
Still an interesting portrait that makes Dylan much more mythical than he really is (based on the documentary). Beautifully shaped and cleverly thought out, much more captivating than most biopics that simply rattle a person's life. Had the impression that Haynes was getting much closer to the person Dylan here.
Still, I still think Dylan is an extremely simple person, which further adorns him, but it's a shame that many people tried to make more of him than he ultimately was.
Film does not bore, even if it is a little too long. Original and worthy of the person Dylan, although some fragments are absolutely uninteresting (especially that of Gere, where the village was very badly designed).

I understand anyone who thought (or will find) this a strange movie.
But if you search and find some background to it, you'd better get in there and think this is a great movie.
Bob Dylan is another. 'Je est un autre' (Rimbaud). He is a poet, prophet, criminal, trickster, actor and musician.
The crew gathers a group of brilliant actors.
"You can go to sleep and wake up like someone else!" Aren't we all always someone else.
It doesn't have to be called schizophrenia. In our dreams we are...
Nice is not it? Bob Dylan is a wonderful storyteller in his songs.

Very original and captivating biopic, which makes me very curious about the rest of Haynes' work. Blanchett in particular proves once again how amazing she really is. But I found almost everything to work. 4 big stars
