Mal returns to the island she originally came from. Once there, she discovers that her nemesis, Uma, has named herself queen. Uma, still angry at not being sent to the magical land of Auradon, also leads a band of pirates there. Uma and her gang turn out to have shady plans.

Three days before Mal [Dove Cameron] can officially call herself 'Lady of the Court', her doubts about her suitability as the future queen of Auradon take over. She decides to return to the Isle of the Lost where she came from and where Harry [Thomas Doherty] and Uma [China Anne McClain] hold proverbial sway. Mal's friends decide to help Queen Benjamin in his attempt to bring Mal back. A weak story, over-produced, formulaic songs quickly make this sink like a stone. McClain is a welcome addition to the cast, but the other new characters all fail. The presence of a talking dog is a clear indication of the lack of new ideas in this miserable sequel to Descendants. Only for children who don't know any better.
