Trees Are Watching plot

Darya, a writer obsessed with the spiritual aura of trees, returns to her hometown of Mardin with her deaf daughter and is tormented by memories of Spin and Nihal, the twin sisters she knew as a child. They stay in their former childhood home—which is surrounded by large-scale deforestation, except for an ominous pair of trees planted for each sister—and Darya's unease is suddenly exacerbated by nightly visits from a malevolent entity that takes on a seemingly innocent form: a chair made of local wood.
