The Monkey's Paw plot
"From the famous story by W. W. Jacobs"
The owner of a curio shop sells to an antiques dealer a monkey paw that can grant three wishes, but warns that it has its drawbacks and that every wish is followed by tragedy. The leg comes into the possession of the Irish shopkeeper Trelawne, who has to pay off his gambling debts. As a result, his son Tom is killed during a speedway race.
