The Square Peg plot
Wilfred Grimsdale and Norman Pitkin are two road workers who take delight in bullying soldiers marching past. The fun ends when they are called up for service in World War II and end up under the wing of a haunted sergeant. And then they are also made prisoners of war by the Nazis. Fortunately, Norman looks exactly like the German General Schreiber, which he exploits to the full.
