Well, I had a better movie experience. However, both users who gave their opinions here are partially right. This giallo is quite tame in terms of kills, and it takes a while for the first kill after the opening scene, almost an hour. The opening scene is nice, though: an old dead man being driven out of the haunted house. On the other hand, there are some positive aspects to the film that I can appreciate. For example, the story manages to captivate me sufficiently through a patient buildup, with the link to the past at the beginning of the film being very important. Actually, the idea is executed well and can even be called original , because the killer brilliantly tricks the viewer by doing nothing during each of the four murders. The killer ensures that his four victims die without using his hands. The kills of the maid and the butler remain vague, just like the connection with the duo from the fair, which I think could have been developed better. It is of course true because he needed them in the whole setup with blackmail, the murder of the
The old man and the phone calls with daughter Catherine. Now the ladies present are also quite something. Daughter Catherine Wallenberger, played by Pilar Velázquez, is simply beautiful
, her sister Barbara, played by Patrizia Adiutori, is even seen naked twice, and the mother Magda, played by Irina Demick, is also quite something and doesn't seem that much older.
As a giallo perhaps not so successful, but as a thriller film it is quite good. 6/10

This one doesn't have a title that would get it much applause today. It does, however, point to the film's exploitation potential. Otherwise, it's a typical giallo. I do love giallos and their mysteries, gore, stylish design, detached characters, and the wonderful soundtracks that often accompany them (in this case, by Carlo Savina, who I'm otherwise unfamiliar with). The direction and cast do what they have to do to make the film work. It's not exactly top-notch, but then again, they never pretended to be.
